November 23, 2009

Hey,

Transfer was definitely interesting. I like the area, I don't really like my companion but I'll serve with him as best I can. Houx is just like it looks How-ks I guess lol He's from Idaho Falls, Idaho.

I really don't mind birthdays, I think they are fun, but it just turned out that this one was extra bland ;)

Marcella is 22 ish. The baptism will go through soon enough, probably Christmas break when her boyfriend will be back again. It would definitely be difficult to do something your parents don't want you to do.

Christmas shopping, crazy to think it's already that time again. You'll have to start warning people now that I probably won't send Christmas gifts because it's such a hassle! We'll see though.

lol, how did speaking about me go? I look forward to reading the talk that you gave.
I think that's probably a good idea to just pick out highlights from my letters to share in sacrament meeting because I sure as heck couldn't come up with anything in particular that I wanted you to share. I hope you shared about my Emergency Transfer (E.T.) and made sure that everybody knew it wasn't my fault ;)

I sang in Sacrament meeting with the ward choir here. We got asked to sing that morning so we ran through the song a few times and had it down by the time we sang it no problem :)

Love,

Elder Jay Davis

(Jay wrote the following in response to what I wrote in an email to him...Uncle Pete and Aunt Mary Littlefield, (my mom's step sister), live in Brown's Valley.)

P.S. - WHAT?! THAT'S WHERE WE LIVE!!! Pete and Mary Littlefield are actually on a mission but we live above their house in an apartment made just for the missionaries! THAT'S NUTS! WOW! Plus people know the Johnsons all over out here! Crazy stuff!

Love ya,

Elder Davis

Hi Dad,

No No No!

You can't be sick for yet another family vacation, and to Disneyland again :( You'll recover, I know it! You are such a trooper though :) Just make sure you have lots of fun, take lots of pictures, and enjoy being in the same state as me ;)

I'm doing my best to adjust to my new companion. To be honest I really really don't like him, but I'll do my best to serve with him and my guess is we won't be together for very long. It is probably my least favorite experience of my mission being E.T.ed (Emergency transferred) (It wasn't officially a mid-transfer) I am doing just fine, I love the area, not the companion...okay, I love him, but I don't like him ;)

Well I told Mom this in her email but apparantely she has a step aunt that lives in Browns Valley where we live. Guess what...she owns the house that we live in! You'll have to read Mom's email for more.

The area is great and HUGE! It spans over 60 miles, covering over three counties, we cover a ward and a branch but pretty much do nothing in the branch because of mileage issues and the branch president is insane. Anyway, the area is sort of dead at the moment, but we are working hard and I have confidence things will pick up. I'm not really sure what else to tell you for now.

Yep, I am definitely able to report that things are more than okay and that I'm doing great. Learning to deal with a companion that I don't like is very hard, but I'll manage. I am most certainly learning how to deal with change better, you're right lol I am glad that you are thankful for me being able to grow in the area of accepting change. It doesn't mean I didn't have to grit my teeth. I was willing to accept it and didn't even consider saying no, but that didn't mean I liked it ;)

I'm sure this week will be great. I hope you have a great week as well. I am thankful for our family as well. Thanks for all you do :D I love you!

Elder Jay Davis
